OrgMaker 1 (usually refers to version 1.3.4) is a program for creating and editing music in the Organya format, which is the music format used in Cave Story. It was developed by Pixel and supports up to 16 Tracks with 8 being dedicated to Melody and the other 8 being dedicated to Drums.

Background

Development of OrgMaker 1 began in the summer of 1999 as an improved version of Pixel’s previous music editor, Piyo Piyo¹.

The first public build of version 1.0 dates back to October 19, 1999.

Since then, several updates have been released, and in the spring of 2003, the latest version 1.3.4 was released, in which all the music for Cave Story was created.
